EDITOR:
I
am reaching out to the residents of Bernardsville to vote
for the Bernardsville Independent Leadership ticket on
Nov. 8, the action team of Joe Rossi and John McCrossan.
Our
council needs the right kind of change. The change that
will bring the necessary balance to a lopsided, one-dimensional
body whose primary purpose is to keep property taxes low
for the 99 farmland assessed properties and six applications
pending in our borough.
A
yes vote for Rossi and McCrossan will bring about change.
The change will be real world knowledge and action on issues
rather than delay. The change will be real dialogue and
compromise that will serve this community best, not a one
size fits all council where this need would be non-existent.
The change will be a council who makes decisions that benefit
an entire community, not specific voting blocs.
The
change will be a genuine focus on addressing the needs
of our seniors with necessary programs and even more necessary
dollars. The change will be more attention to the practical,
real life recreational needs of our community and not to "send
them to Basking Ridge."
The
change will be better use of tax dollars, not more tax
dollars. The change will be a proactive plan to maintain
our infrastructure. The change will lead to more civility
to our public. The change will be more respect for one
another on the council rather than total agreement with
each other.
A
no vote for Rossi and McCrossan will also bring about change,
the wrong kind of change, the type that will result in
total control by a single special interest group. The change
will be a string of 6-0 votes that may not end anytime
soon. The change will be a council totally endorsed by
a single Republican Committee that will totally control
this borough for years to come. The change will be a single
side to every issue rather than two sides.
In
reality, a vote for Rossi and McCrossan are the only votes
that will bring about change. The current Republican Committee
endorsed council has been in power for four years now.
I
respectfully ask every voter this year the common question
asked in every presidential election: Is Bernardsville
and your family better off now than you were four years
ago?
For
honest, productive change Vote Rossi/McCrossan Nov. 8.
