The
Somerset County Clerk’s Office is extending its hours
to accommodate voters who will be unable to go to the polls
on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Absentee ballot applications can be picked up at the County
Clerk’s Office, located in the lobby of the county Administration
Building at 20 Grove St., Somerville.
Residents can also obtain an application by visiting the county’s web site
at www.co.somerset.nj.us/absentee.htm, or by contacting the County Clerk’s
Office at 231-7013 or CountyClerk@co.somerset.nj.us.
The clerk’s office will remain open until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
In addition, it will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 5.
If submitted by mail, completed applications for absentee ballots must be received
by the clerk’s office no later than Nov. 1, seven days prior to the election.
This will allow time for the ballot to be mailed back to the applicant.
Voters, or authorized messengers for voters who are sick or confined, may visit
the County Clerk’s Office during office hours up until 3 p.m. on Monday,
Nov. 7., to fill out an application and receive an absentee ballot.
Completed absentee ballots can be mailed to the Election Board, P.O. Box 3000,
Somerville, N.J. 08876. Ballots can also be dropped off at the Board of Election,
located next to the County Clerk’s office in the county Administration
Building. Absentee ballots can be returned until the polls close at 8 p.m. on
election night, Nov. 8.
